Blackberry Pearl 8220 Review: Rim's first try on Flip Model

RIM comes out with yet another little piece of mobile, this time its a flip model. Although unlike RIM products, Blackberry pearl 8220 smart phone is the first flip model that RIM has come out with.

This time the body looks better than previous pearl models. It fits perfectly in the hand and has better curves than its predecessors. It looks a little like the Motorola Razr, but a puffed up razr.

The LCD screen is 12 8x 260 TFT which makes it easier to preview messages and incoming call’s ids. Although this is similar to most of the flip phones, yet it can out beat others by giving the facility of avoiding the 0800 numbers.

Apart from the outer screen on the top, there is the inner, main screen. It is a 3 inch, 240×320 screen which allows you to view video in landscape and portrait mode. The 8130 was a slightly sharp edged model and hence this new model, 8220 comes out as a great upgrade. The quality of User interface is also excellent and lives up to the Blackberry standards.

The internal memory has also been upgraded from 64 MB to 128 MB. Another positive addition is the Blackberry media sync that will allow you to pass on the your favorite music from pC onto your phone. Moreover it also comes bundled with other important accessories like stereo headsets, blue tooth supported GPS receiver, car kits and the removable and rechargeable 900 mAhr battery to deliver a continuous four hours of talk time and over 14 days of standby time.

The phone is also compatible with nearly all media formats like MP3, acc, wma etc. Other features also include smart dialing, conference calling, call forwarding, speed dialing etc.

Blackberry 8220 comes loaded with blackberry maps to deliver maps and step by step driving directions with an enchanced HTML browser in two views, column as well as page.
