Obama is now under a microscopic view.A team of researchers from the University of Michigan has created carbon nanotube images of Obama whose details can only be seen with optical and electron microscopes.
To popularise the nanotechnology the professors has come up with the images of Obama who is the most popular man these days.
“I think a demonstration like making a Nano-bama, which is to be honest pretty basic for us to make in the lab considering the types of things we’re making out of nanotechnology, is a cool way to connect what we do in the lab and work very hard on. We connect it to a topic of popular interest and of course Obama’s pretty popular these days,” says John Hart, assistant professor in mechanical engineering and leader of the research team at Michigan.
Each Nano-Bama contains 150 million tiny slivers of carbon, much thinner than a human hair. Yet they are surprisingly stronger than steel.
“With really good quality nanotubes, we could make fibers that are stronger than steel, the strongest material ever made,” he continues.
